Three Types of Invisalign® Available
There are three main varieties of Invisalign treatment that Dr. Davis uses, depending on the needs of the individual patient.
Invisalign Adult is the the default “Full” version designed for more complex cases common in adults. In adults the teeth are completely erupted and the jaws are fully formed. This is taken into consideration in the diagnosis and treatment plan of an adult Invisalign case. The length of treatment time can vary between one to two years. For adults who want to get that smile they’ve always wanted, but in a more inconito approach that is more convenient and more comfortable than metal braces, then Invisalign Adult may be your best choice.
Invisalign Teen is designed with the special needs of a tennager in mind. This version has special wear indicators built into the aligners to make sure that the patient is actually wearing them full time as prescribed. There is also a special provision for replacement of lost aligners, which seems to be more prevalant in the teenage population. The length of treament time also can vary between one to to years. If you feel that metal braces might put a crimp in your active high school lifestyle, then Invisalign Teen may be the perfect fit for you.
For less complicated cases that don’t require as much orthodontic correction, Invisalign Express may be a viable option. Patients who may fall into this category may include those who were previously treated with braces, but underwent relapse beacause they didn’t wear their retainers as instructed. The length of treatment time usually is around 6 months.
